We are looking for a motivated Charge Nurse join our team.

Hourly rate 55-65 hr. Monday thru Friday 6:30 to 5:00p.m.  Four 10 hours shifts. 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive

  • Maintain provider and staff schedules
  • Inventory management for OBL/ASC
  • Daily operations management
  • Management and oversight for all procedural staff
  • Maintain accreditation standards
  • Provide ongoing patient information to the interventionalist and clinical team during procedures to deliver vascular care to the patient including but not limited to cardiac monitoring, Aldrete score, pain status
  • Monitor patient vitals (HR, BP, O2Sat, EKG) during procedures
  • Maintain radiation safety when C-Arm is in use in the procedure room
  • Assist in procedure room preparation; maintain sterile techniques in the procedure room; assist with pre- and post-procedures including assessment of discharge
  • Assist in recovery room patient care following vascular procedures
  • Gather patient clinical information prior to procedures including patient assessments and patient history
  • Keep clear and accurate patient medical records
  • Maintain up-to-date narcotic drug log
  • Assist inventory manager in maintaining inventory count
  • Observe all OSHA and radiation safety monitoring policies


Skills & Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

(Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required)

  • Current RN license in state of practice required
  • Minimum of 5 (five) years’ clinical experience in critical care, interventional radiology, or medical/surgical required
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ managerial or administrative experience required
  • OBL or ASC experience preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word required

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Fluent in the written and verbal skills necessary to perform successfully the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of the position

  • Ability to read, speak, and write English with clarity of expression sufficient to communicate technical and complex concepts of teammates, patients, and patient family members in clear and easily understandable terms required
  • Ability to understand clinical/medical vocabulary written or spoken in English required.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical requirements can vary.  These must be reviewed with management.  In general, the position requires the following physical activities:

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 5 pounds to a maximum of 35 pounds un assisted; able to stand for extended periods of time and to perform repetitive stooping, walking, stretching, reaching, with some sitting; full range of body motions required to lift patients, wear a lead apron, and lift supplies
  • Manual dexterity and ability to work rapidly required
  • Ability to perform patient transfers and positioning of patients up to 200 pounds unassisted; seek assistance for any patient over 200 pounds
  • Ability to lift and move patient transport devices
  • Ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds
